Layla had a high fever overnight, so they started antibiotics and Tylenol and stopped her feeds. This morning, Dr. Maddern (who did her trach) scoped her airway and said it looked good. No signs of aspirating. Nothing grew back on the blood cultures, and the only growth from her trachea was ORSA, which she will always test positive for because of an earlier colonization.
As the day progressed, Layla began to feel better and act more like her spunky self. Her temp is now back to normal, and she's awake and alert.
Let's hope she continues to improve and is feeling much better by Friday, the day of her first trach change and then possibly a move to a big kid crib!

Layla looks wonderful. It's hard to believe any little thing might be bothering her from the look in her beautiful eyes. I miss you and love you all. Love ... Mommy
